Charles M. Marold Sr.

Charles M. Marold Sr., 85, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018. He was the loving husband of the late Winifred (Partridge) Marold for fifty-one years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ernest R. Marold and Lillian M. (Smith) Marold. A decorated Army veteran of the Korean War, Charles was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar, Army of Occupation Medal with Japanese Clasp, and National Defense Service Medal. Following his honorable service, Charles worked as a contractor for many years before retiring. He was a member of the William Shields American Legion Post # 43.

Charles was the loving father of Steve Marold (Lori), Bruce Marold (Gloria), John Marold (Marie), Cynthia Butrim (Bill Pinnick), and the late Charles M. Marold, Jr.; brother of the late Lillian Pilkington, Muriel Windsor, Eleanor Golden, Elizabeth Norman, Hope Marciano, Helene Venditelli, Corrine Webster, Ernest Marold, Carl Marold, Jesse Marold, William Marold, and Richard Marold. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

His funeral service will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
