Choosing to express their point of view

Administrators, faculty and students from religious, private and charter schools rallied at the State House Thursday in support of School Choice. In contrast to many rallies aimed at promoting a cause to legislators, this one was devoid of cheers, chants, speeches and demonstrators waving signs. Rather, there was music, tables with information from each of the participating schools and dozens of yellow scarves, the signature color of the group that is seeking to raise the corporate tax credit scholarship enabling businesses to claim credit for contributions to approved scholarship programs; support the growth of charter schools; create a publicly financed education saving account that would enable families to pay for tuition for private and religious schools and to make the state’s free SAT testing available to private and religious schools.
