Christine M. Pierce, ACNP, 62, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 surrounded by her family and her lifelong friends.

She was a daughter of the late Frank A. and Shirley E. (Duhamel) McCormick. Born in Providence, she resided in East Providence before moving to Warwick in 2007 and was a lifelong Buttonwoods summer resident. Chris graduated from the Rhode Island College School of Nursing with honors and started her career at Rhode Island Hospital in 1979. She later received her Master of Science in Nursing from Rhode Island College in 2015 and was most recently employed with Brown Physicians, Inc. where she worked in both Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital’s emergency rooms as a nurse practitioner.

Chris was the person everyone called when they had any ache, pain, fracture, rash or ailment of any kind. She was the nurse extraordinaire and was “on call” for everyone. She was kind, caring, generous, strong, smart and extremely funny. Chris was the life of the party. Her ability to tell a story was unmatched. She loved her summers spent in Buttonwoods, traveling the world, her career, the Patriots, and spending time with her children, family and all of her many friends. If you knew Chrissy/Crispy/Cricky/Schmoopie/BaBa/Auntie, you knew she was a great dancer who brought her signature moves to every gathering. She was a role model and mentor for many. Her family and friends will cherish their memories of Chris.

Chris was the beloved mother of Nick Pierce and Katie Pierce, RN. They were the light of her life. She was the loving sister of Patricia Conn, Sheila Paup, Tracy McCaughey, Mitzi Page and the late Kathy Paremsky. She leaves her long-time partner, Rik “Ba Ba” Hague, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her funeral was held April 30 from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a celebration of life in the Westminster Unitarian Church, 119 Kenyon Avenue, East Greenwich. Visiting hours were Monday, April 29.

Memorial contributions to help fund for the continuing medical needs of her disabled nephew, payable to Kyle Page, c/o 130 Washington Road, Barrington, RI 02806 would be appreciated. For information and condolences visit TheQuinnFuneralHome.com.
