It was all-school performance as parents, friends and faculty of John Brown Francis School came together for a final patriotic program Wednesday night at Pilgrim High School.
It has been at least five years since JBF conducted a patriotic program, but as school secretary Debra Norman explained with the impending closure of the school, music teachers Kristy Procacianti and Jessica Mathias rallied the students and staff to resurrect the program. And, indeed, it was a success as parents, family and friends turned out as each grade took to the stage to perform a patriotic song accompanied by Marcia Beagan on the piano.
John Brown Francis closes this month as a part of the school consolidation plan. The building will be re-purposed as the department’s early childhood education center.

What a great idea from great teachers and a whole lot of enthusiastic students.
Events like these are what makes Warwick schools attractive to other communities. The more new residents we attract, the less taxes Warwick will need per-taxpayer, and our schools certainly have room for more students.
Congratulations to all involved.
Happy Summer everyone.
