Kent Hospital’s Christopher P. Zabbo, DO, FACEP, FAAEM, recently authored an article in Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America. Dr. Zabbo’s article, “Trauma in Pregnancy,” highlighted the emergency treatment of pregnant patients who sustain trauma and the required knowledge of the fundamental aspects of trauma management. The article appeared in a journal published by Elsevier, a global provider of health and science information. The article was co-authored by Ali S. Raja, MD, MBA, MPH, of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. The article featured information on maternal cardiopulmonary arrest, perimortem cesarean sections and the overall traumatic complications of pregnancy. Dr. Zabbo is an emergency medicine physician and has worked at Kent Hospital since 2008. He is also the program director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Kent Hospital, which is affiliated with the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
