Gregory earns Colby degree
Abby M. Gregory, of Warwick, was one of 462 seniors who graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, May 26, 2019. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree at the College's 198th Commencement. Gregory, who majored in biology, attended Toll Gate High School.
David E. Kelley, creator of critically acclaimed shows Ally McBeal and Big Little Lies, spoke to a crowd of more than 3,000. He urged Colby College graduates to reject a career that is "not so terrible" and instead pursue what will make them truly fulfilled.
Ye earns bachelor’s degree
Julie Ye, of Warwick, graduated from the University of San Diego on May 26. Ye earned a bachelor's degree in marketing.

Maron on dean’s list
Mackenzie Maron, of Johnston, a Secondary Education and History major at Lasell College, was named to the spring 2019 dean's list. Maron achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher with at least 12 completed credits to merit this accomplishment.
Antoch earns Dean honors
Dean College recently announced that Bryce Antoch, of Cranston, has earned a place on the President's List for the Spring 2019 semester.
Byrnes on dean’s list
Emily Brynes, of Warwick has been named to the Spring 2019 dean's list at The College of Saint Rose.
On internship
Jacob McCollough, of Johnston, is completing Colby-Sawyer's internship requirement this summer with Pappas Physical and Hand Therapy in North Providence. McCollough is majoring in exercise science and is a member of the class of 2020.
Does summer research
Mary Greenwell, of Warwick, an up-and-coming political science student at Eastern Connecticut State University was selected to participate in a Summer Research Institute (SRI) from May 20-24.
"My research topic concerned what causes the divide in attitudes about environmental policies,” said Greenwell. "However, it's still a struggle to pass policies that are both sufficient enough to have an impact on the amount of damage being done."
