Lawton helps with TREK program

On Saturday August 18th, 2018 Brandon Lawton of Warwick, along with 74 other students led over 250 incoming first-year UVM students as they began their University of Vermont experience through TREK, a unique, 7-day first year enrichment program sponsored by UVM's Department of Student Life. Known as TREK leaders, these students provided and maintained a safe, healthy and supportive group atmosphere for their student participants while exploring the expansive outdoor environments of northern Vermont and it's neighboring states through both Wilderness and Service TREK programs.

Medical student receives White Coat

Horace Reuben of Warwick was among the NYITCOM at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM at A-State) medical students who recently received their white coats, a rite of passage signifying the official start of medical school.

NYITCOM at A-State's White Coat Ceremony was held on August 10 in the Fowler Center on the A-State campus.

Boyarsky enrolled at Belmont University

Benjamin Boyarsky, a Warwick native, enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee this semester as part of the University's largest class yet. The school kicked off its fall 2018 semester with a record-breaking enrollment number as the University welcomed 8,318 students to campus, nearly triple the enrollment in 2000 and marking a 65 percent increase in the last decade alone. Kyle Gray named resident assistant

Eastern Connecticut State University recently named its resident assistants (RAs) for the fall 2018 semester. Among the RAs selected is Kyle Gray '21 of Warwick. Gray's major is Political Science. At Eastern Connecticut State University, RAs have the role of guiding and aiding students with on-campus residential living. They are carefully selected by staff in the Department of Housing and Residential Life through a process of information sessions and personal interviews. After being hired, they are trained to provide an environment that encourages success and positive student development.

Mary Greenwell named to Field Hockey Team

The Warriors at Eastern Connecticut State University recently named 22 students to the 2018-19 field hockey team.

Among the athletes is Mary Greenwell '21 of Warwick, who majors in Business Administration. Her position on the team is Defense and Goalie.

"The Eastern Connecticut State University Field Hockey program is looking forward to a successful year on and off the field," said Head Coach Christine Hutchinson. "We have a smaller team but every athlete is ready to compete and has prepared well over the summer and preseason. We will be very competitive and looking to take the Little East Conference by surprise once again."

The Little East Conference (LEC) was established in 1986 as a single-sport league by six public institutions throughout New England. The LEC has since become a multi-sport league with eight primary members, six affiliate members and 19 championships.

Newest students at Castleton

Three Warwick residents, Simon Davis, Kyle Ford and Anthony Vann have enrolled at Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont.
