The Community Players wrap up their 96th season with the classic comedy, “You Can’t Take it With You,” directed by Pawtucket resident Patricia Hawk-ridge.

Meet the Sycamore family, a collection of lovably eccentric incompetents who keep a printing press in the parlor, manufacture fireworks in the basement, are friends with an ex-grand duchess, and include a Grandpa who does not believe in paying taxes. When daughter Alice falls in love with straight-laced Tony Kirby and invites his conservative, high society parents to dinner, she orders her family to “ordinary up,” which means act like normal people. As with most things in this wacky family, things don’t go exactly as planned. Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy reminds us all to spend our lives doing things we enjoy...after all, you can’t take it with you.

The production features Michael Anthony (Auburn, Mass.), Heather Vieira (Norton, Mass.), Laura Benjamin (Cumberland), Bradford Greer, Marc Tiberiis, Richard Griffin, Dan Martens (Pawtucket), Michelle Golda, Ron Martin, Brian Mulvey, Kevin Thibault (Warwick), Carol Varden, Frank O’Donnell (North Providence), Lauren Trad (Lincoln), Lee Rush, Rebecca Tung (Cranston), Rachel Nadeau (West Greenwich), Leslie Racine Vazquez (Providence) and Ashley Lopes (East Providence).

The comedy will be presented July 7-9 and 14-16 at Jenks Auditorium, 350 Division Street, Pawtucket (across from McCoy Stadium). Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for students through high school. Audience members attending opening night on July 7 will be eligible to win a special prize. Tickets may be purchased online at www.thecommunityplayers.net or reserved at 726-6860. Subscriptions to the 2017/2018 season, featuring “Annie,” “Lovers and Other Strangers” and “Forever Plaid” are also on sale now at the website.
