Completes basic training


Army National Guard Pvt. James R. Graves Jr. has graduated from Basic Military Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Forth Leonard Wood, Mo.

During basic military training with Delta Company 3rd Battalion 10th Infantry Regiment, Graves received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualifications, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, physical fitness, first aid, and Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions. During AIT Graves was a part of the 554th Engineer Battalion Alpha Company “All Steel,” which conducts training to produce technically and tactically competent values based heavy construction equipment operators.

When Pvt. Graves returns home, he will be a part of the 861st Engineer Company in East Greenwich. Graves is the son of James and Lori Graves and brother of Amanda Graves of Warwick and is a 2011 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School.
