Doyle was Hendricken’s top finisher in Sunday’s state meet at Ponaganset High School, as his fourth-place finish led the way for the Hawks to capture their fifth consecutive state championship. They’ll race in New Englands this weekend.

“We knew that La Salle could beat us,” Doyle said. “They beat us earlier in the season. The thing was, we had to go in and run hard and not let them have the chance to beat us.”
