Cooking is in her DNA

The Conimicut Village Association turned out Tuesday evening to welcome Kim Diana as the new owner of Village Pizza. Kim worked at the Village Pizza for three years and she and her mother, Susan Diana, acquired it last fall. Since the acquisition, she has expanded the menu offering a wide selection of Italian foods. Her mother makes the desserts including an apple and cinnamon calzone. “Being Italian, I love to feed people,” says Kim. She goes out of her way to get the freshest ingredients and uses locally grown produce when available. “The flavor and the freshness are here,” she says. And while she says the chains may undercut her prices, “they can’t compete with the quality.” About 30 villagers – many of them seen here – enjoyed pizza, calzones and grinders at the welcome celebration. The business is located on West Shore Road near the village center. (Warwick Beacon photo)
