The 92-room Courtyard by Marriott in Warwick recently completed an extensive $450,000 renovation.

While the addition of flights and airlines at Green Airport were not a motivating factor, Sue Gallogly, director of sales and marketing, said, “Our decision to renovate was due to Marriott brand standards but the timing was fortunate in terms of the airport expansion timeline.”

The hotel upgrades improve the guest experience from arrival to departure, starting with the newly refurbished lobby that includes a complete overhaul of all finishes and fixtures. The Bistro restaurant located inside the hotel has added more accessible seating to accommodate guests, and the meeting room and business center offer brand new audio-visual equipment, as well as new furniture and other interior updates.

To complement these improvements, the pool area and fitness center have been updated with new flooring and fixtures. The pool and spa have also been resurfaced.

Gallogly said the hotel has experienced a growth in occupancy, especially on weekends.

“We believe that sporting events and conventions are part of the mix, as are weddings in our Warwick venues. Warwick Tourism has done a really great job of marketing our proximity to Boston and Connecticut. We also see a lot of people who stay in Warwick but are visiting or attending events in Newport. We are enthusiastic about the airport expansion project and think it will provide more,” she said in an email response to questions.

The upgrades continue throughout the property to the guest rooms, which received new vanity mirrors, upgraded RFID locks, and are equipped with the Enseo television platform that allows guests to access their own online streaming accounts such as Netflix and Hulu.

The hotel is professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel and convention center management firm. The 92-room Courtyard by Marriott Warwick features an indoor pool, whirlpool spa, fitness center, complimentary wireless Internet access, The Bistro restaurant, meeting space, business center, and airport shuttle. The hotel is located off the I-95 and 295 connector and is just three miles from T.F Green Airport and six miles from Downtown Providence and the Rhode Island Convention Center.
