Applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Cox Communications Scholarship program. Cox will award $38,000 to 19 high school seniors who excel academically, demonstrate strong community involvement and are interested in pursuing a degree in communications, engineering, telecommunications or technology. Each scholarship awarded is $2,000.

“Cox Communications is a strong supporter of education,” said Jay Allbaugh, senior vice president and region manager at Cox Communications Northeast. “Helping students take the step from high school to college is something we are proud to do.”

High school seniors can get a Cox Scholarship application from their guidance counselor or by contacting Rosie Fernandez, community relations manager, via e-mail at Rosie.Fernandez@cox.com.

Completed applications must be received electronically by Friday, March 4. A selection committee will review the applications and 19 students in Connecticut, Ohio and Rhode Island will be selected.

Since 1994, the Cox Scholarship program has presented more than $500,000 in scholarships to high school students.
