Date auction tonight helps ill children

Children's Wishes, a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses, will behold its 3rd Annual Dream

Date Auction tonight at 7:30 at McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon on 52 Pine Street in Providence.

Bachelors and bachelorettes will be auctioned off by comedian Ben Hague and Cardi's Furniture's Ben DeCastro. The lucky winning bidders for each bachelor and bachelorette will win a "dream date" with that person.

Dana Hrabcsak, executive director of Children’s Wishes, said success stories of love have blossomed out of prior years’ auctions. This year it might be your turn to find the “man or woman of your dreams.”

Tickets are $10 each and there will be free appetizers, drink specials and raffles throughout the night.

Last year the event raised $7,000 to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening and terminal illnesses. This year, Hrabcsak and her team hope to exceed that.
