Daughters of Isabella business meeting set May 5

Three Providence College students majoring in management teamed up with a group helping the Warwick-based group, Children’s Wishes, on Sunday to raise funds for the non-profit group. Since spinning off from Make-A-Wish about six years ago, Children’s Wishes has granted 30 wishes to Rhode Island children facing some form of illness. Many wishes are to visit Disney World but also include meeting celebrities and room makeovers, said Ed Nievera. With the help of the PC students, Christopher Diaz of Tech 911 pulled together volunteers and other area businesses to hold an afternoon of bowling at Meadowbrook Lanes. Sophia’s Tuscan Grille provided food. Also a major sponsor was LDC Inc., and providing gift certificates and raffle items were Hooters, Cardi’s Furniture, Picassos and Larry’s Liquors. Meadowbrook Lanes also helped the cause.
