David Michael Monahan, a devoted family man and affable comrade passed away peacefully at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence on April 2, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Robin (DelGizzo) Monahan for thirty-three years.

Born July 13, 1947 to the late George and Concetta (DelPadre) Monahan, David was raised in Cranston. He developed a strong "work ethic" at an early age helping out at his father's store, the former Eden Park Drugs. While attending Cranston East High he excelled on the wrestling team and had his own landscaping business as well. Always the entrepreneur and an avid motorcycle enthusiast, Dave and a partner opened LA Chopper in 1970; a specialty store that catered to the local demand for custom motorcycle parts. Always looking forward Dave's adventurous nature drew him to travel and settle in Texas for a while. A self taught quick learner, he adapted easily to the home remodeling industry, finding a fruitful "niche" for nearly forty years.

Dave truly enjoyed watching a good football game with his buddies. More recently he enjoyed taking a leisurely bike ride with his family along the East Bay bike path. He will be remembered for his sweet disposition and kindhearted spirit.

He was the cherished father of Stephanie and Christina Monahan; brother of George Monahan and the late Margaret Trainer; uncle to Anthony and Lisa Trainer of Florida.

The family would like to acknowledge the dedicated medical staff at both Butler and Zambrano Hospital for the care and compassion shown toward Dave during his illness.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate in a Memorial Mass at 10:45 a.m. on April 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Church 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be at St. Ann's Cemetery.
