Diverse faith groups coming together for Thanksgiving service
Woodridge United Church of Christ, 546 Budlong Rd., Cranston, will host a Community Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov.18 at 6 p.m. bringing together people of diverse faiths.
Participants include members of the Jerusalem Seventh Day Adventist (Haitian) Church, the First Korean Church of Rhode Island, St David’s on the Hill – Episcopal, the Edgewood United Church of Christ, and Temple Sinai (Jewish).
The service is open to all in the community and will hopefully be an opportunity to celebrate diversity together in worship. Children are welcome and there will be fellowship following the service. The service will be about an hour long and include a blending of music, Biblical readings, prayers, and a brief message and include leadership from all congregations and honor all faith traditions.
There will be a “massed choir.” A brief rehearsal will be held the afternoon of the service at 4:30. Those looking to participate in the “massed choir” should contact the Woodridge minister of music Bob Nolan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 942-0662.
The service is scheduled earlier in the week of Thanksgiving so that it would not interfere with family preparations or travel plans.
Those interested in attending are asked to let Reverend Scott Spencer know at email@example.com or 942–0662.
