Donald J. Dalton


Donald J. Dalton, age 95, formerly of Atlantic Avenue, Warwick, died on March 14, 2013 at Brentwood Nursing Home.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Martin and Catherine (Farrell) Dalton, he lived in Warwick since 1963. He served as a corporal with the United States Army field artillery in World War II, and participated in the Battle of St. Lo in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He was honored with the French Croix de Guerre. Mr. Dalton was a truck driver for the American Oil Co. (Amoco) for 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter Church in Warwick.

He was the brother of the late Edward Dalton, Martin “Bob” Dalton, Helen Dalton, and Catherine Mulvey. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Friday, March 22, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours are omitted.
