Doris Thomas (Holden) Williamson, 90, died January 4, 2012 in Brentwood Nursing Home, Warwick. She was married for 47 years to William E. Williamson until his death in November 2006. They had a very happy life together and traveled all over.

She was born in the Apponaug section of Warwick, a daughter of the late William and Grace (Thomas) Holden. Doris loved to travel all over Europe, the Caribbean, the United States and Canada. She played the trumpet with the Lockwood High School band for years. She graduate from Lockwood in 1943.

She loved bowling at Cranston Lanes so much that she became their treasurer. She also loved going to bowling tournaments all over Rhode Island. She came in first place most times. She was a housekeeper and nanny to Colonel Quinn’s children.

Doris was preceded in death by two siblings, Irene and Clarence Holden. She is survived by two loving nephews, Rick Williamson of Providence and Kenny Williamson of Hawaii, and her longtime caretakers, Susan K. and Richard Stalaboin.

Her funeral service will be held Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. in Bell Funeral Home, 571 Broad St., Providence. Burial will follow at East Greenwich Cemetery, 100 First Ave., East Greenwich.
