Dunkin' Donuts program aims to help children of active-duty servicemen
This week, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees kicked off the second annual fundraiser for Operation Tribute, a non-profit organization that helps provide gifts to children of active-duty servicemen and -women.
Now through Dec. 2, customers at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass. who donate $1 to Operation Tribute will receive a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee to be used in January as a thank you from Dunkin’ Donuts.
More than 500 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Rhode Island, Bristol County, Maine, Vermont and participating counties in New Hampshire and New York will take part in the fundraiser. In 2011, more than $75,000 was raised in Rhode Island and Bristol County.
Operation Tribute is a non-profit organization, serving children of military families throughout New England, New York and New Jersey during the holiday season. Dunkin’ Donuts’ support will help provide age appropriate gifts to children of active-duty service men and women registered in the program.
In 2011, over 32,000 gifts in 1,100 cities were distributed through the Operation Tribute program.
