Edward T. Duckworth, age 73, of Weetamoe Drive, Warwick, died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 30, 2017. He was the husband of Frances M. (Sneesby) Duckworth.

Born in Warwick, the son of the late Thomas E. Duckworth (former Chief, Warwick Fire Dept.) and Adeline (Cipollone) Duckworth, he was a life-long Warwick resident. Ed was the owner and operator of The Coffee Grinder in the Governor Francis Shopping Center in Warwick for the past 25 years. He was retired as a firefighter with the Warwick Fire Department. Ed was a member of the Warwick Retired Firefighters Association, and the President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Warwick, Div. 1. Ed was an avid Patriots fan and a beloved member the Warwick community; he was the sponsor of numerous sports teams and programs for the city’s youth.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Edward T. Duckworth, Jr. of Narragansett, Gregory N. Duckworth of Wakefield, Brian J. Duckworth of Shapleigh, ME, and Michael P. Duckworth of Wakefield; three daughters, Kathy A. Codner of Kingston, Karen A. Duquette of Charlestown, and Bonnie L. Doyle of Warwick; a step-daughter, Jessica A. Kenney of Warwick; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 4, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
