Elizabeth Michelle (Wilcox) Fraser

Elizabeth Michelle (Wilcox) Fraser, 61, a lifelong resident of Warwick, died peacefully Tuesday after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Elizabeth, known fondly as "Mickey" to family and friends, was the beloved wife of Robert Fraser for 39 years. Mickey and Bob met while working at Kent Hospital, and raised their family in the Governor Francis Farms home where Mickey grew up. She leaves behind her three daughters, Kelley, Heather and Megan; her son-in-law Michael Pigeon; Megan's fiancé, William Geoghegan; and her beautiful granddaughter, Lilly Grace Pigeon.

Mickey was born in August 1952, to the late Edward and Betty Wilcox. She graduated from Pilgrim High School and went on to work for Kent Hospital. She later worked for many years for MetLife Insurance. She worked nights and weekends while her children were young, so she could be at home to raise them. She was a longtime member of the John Brown Francis Elementary School PTA and an original coordinator for the Volunteers of Warwick Schools (VOWS) program. She loved to cook, and her home became the gathering spot for family and friends.

Mickey is survived by her sister, Donna McDonald, and her husband, William; brother Michael Wilcox; mother-in-law Elaine Fraser; Kathy and David Williams; Donna Butler; Carolyn and Kevin Bates; Joan Barrera; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 30, from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Saint Timothy Church, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mickey's name to the Kent Employee Emergency Program, c/o Kent Hospital, 455 Tollgate Road, Warwick, RI 02886; or to the Crompton Veterans Organization Scholarship Fund, 37 Hepburn Street, West Warwick, RI 02893.
