The Ocean State Center for Independent Living will host Lunch & Learn Workshops at OSCIL locations in Warwick and Pawtucket in August.
The topic is: Emergency preparedness – the time is now.
Andrea Creach, Community Initiatives Coordinator for the Center for Emergency Preparedness at the RI Department of Health, will present at both workshops. She will be discussing personal preparedness and sharing a workbook called “My Emergency Plan” that goes along with her presentation. She will also be discussing the Rhode Island Special Needs Registry in depth. A question and answer session will follow her presentation. Don’t miss this important presentation. Workshops will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Warwick OSCIL office at 1944 Warwick Ave. on Aug. 22 and at the Pawtucket location, 175 Main St. on Aug. 23.
As part of OSCIL’s mission to provide outreach, education and opportunities for peer support, OSCIL offers these free Lunch and Learn workshops highlighting various solutions that can increase access in your home and community.
Advance registration is required; call 738-1013 if you plan to attend either session.
Seating is limited. Lunch (pizza) will be served. A sign language interpreter and CART have been secured for these events.
