Evelyn (Motta) Gaumond, 86, of Lexington Ave., passed away November 10, 2011 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of Raymond F. Gaumond; they had been married for 58 years.
Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Amaral) Motta, she was a lifelong resident of West Warwick. Mrs. Gaumond was a lace winder for Hope Valley Dye and a packer for Astromed for many years before retiring.
Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Patricia Sabetta of Warwick; a son, Wayne Gaumond and his wife, Amy Manchester, of Charlestown; a step-grandson, Caleb Manchester; two sisters, Dorothy Lemoine of West Warwick and Clara Ferreira of Coventry; a brother, Lionel Motta of Coventry; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lorraine Cox and John, James and Joseph Motta.
Her funeral was held Nov. 14 from Henault-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Anthony Church, Maple Ave., West Warwick. Interment followed in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
