Evelyn Irene Tift

Evelyn Irene Tift, 88, a longtime resident of Warwick, formerly of Westerly, passed away November 26, 2017. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Tift.

Born in Pawcatuck, CT, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Minerva (Lugar) Burdick. Evelyn was a great lover of animals and always spoke of her quote “Her care is never to offend, every creature is her friend.”

Evelyn is predeceased by her eight siblings. She leaves her nephew Robert Burdick, great niece Tina Rollo, great nephew Kyle and their families. Mama Evie is also survived by her stepson David Tift (Denise) of West Greenwich, stepson Douglas Tift (Patricia) of Cranston. Seven step-grandchildren of which three step-grandsons serve in the Air Force and five step-great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

A committal service will be Monday December 4th at 10a.m. at the Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. (Please gather in the administration parking lot by 9:45a.m.)
