Happy Campers

“Everything is Possible with God…”

That was the theme at this year’s Bible Summer Camp at St. Peter’s Parish last week. One hundred campers in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade gathered at the church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day to spend time with one another while celebrating their ability to do kind acts for others.

Campers worked in conjunction with the Rhode Island Family Shelter as their mission project for the week. The children decorated tote bags and filled them with toiletries for new arrivals at the shelter, ensuring homeless families have the supplies they need. The campers donated more than 140 hand-decorated tote bags. Camp wrapped up Friday evening with singing and dancing performances by the children, along with a presentation from Patti MacReading, the director of the Rhode Island Family Shelter. More than 40 fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders, as well as 30 high schoolers and three college students, served as counselors and are pictured here. (Warwick Beacon photos by Jessica A.
