Steve Stycos, who runs the Westbay farm at the former Barton Farm on Centerville Road, knows exactly why the Brussels sprouts never reached harvest – they were eaten by the groundhog. And Stycos guesses that the rains of spring washed away the corn seeds. But everything else at the farm is growing and the harvest is plentiful. The farm road stand, actually in the barn at the top of the entrance road, is open Mondays from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Yes, it will be open this coming Monday, Labor Day. Stycos expects the stand will be open through September and maybe longer. In addition to the stand, the farm provides produce for the Westbay Marketplace operated by Westbay Community Action.
