Former member of Warwick Symphony graduates

Peter Dutilly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Dutilly, formerly of Greene, R.I. and residing in Yulee, Fla., graduated May 5 from Jacksonville University with a double major in Music Composition and Performance.

Over the years as an undergraduate, Dutilly received the Delius Award for Outstanding Accomplishment in the area of Music Composition, the JU Service to the Institution Award, and made the dean's list.

Dutilly was the director of the Amelia Arts Academy String Ensemble for several seasons while finishing up his undergraduate work; and before moving to Florida, participated in the Ocean State Youth Orchestra and Warwick Symphony Orchestra.

He has written several compositions that were performed by the Warwick Symphony Orchestra (WSO), including a tribute to beloved fellow musician Winnie Miller; a salute to the WSO on its 40th anniversary; and a farewell tribute to retiring Conductor Dinarte Ferro.

He has been awarded an Assistantship to the FSU Masters Program where he will perform with the Eppes String Quartet.
