Free informational seminars offered on Social Security, Medicare, retirement

Posted

In an effort to help clarify the complexities associated with Social Security, Medicare and retirement, Universal Wealth Management, a leading financial and insurance services firm headquartered in Cranston, is conducting nearly 100 free informational seminars throughout Rhode Island. These seminars will take place during Medicare Open Enrollment October 15 through December 7.

“Medicare coverage is increasingly complex and has many moving parts as well as rising costs,” said Karen Emma, president/CEO of Universal Wealth Management. “These important seminars we are holding during Open Enrollment translate the complexities that so many find daunting. Truly understanding Medicare and Supplemental Plans is crucial for assuring adequate healthcare coverage at the lowest possible cost.  It is also critical for all retirement planning and financial longevity. We will walk you through all the complexities and layout Medicare healthcare plan options in clear language. Our goal is to make the Social Security and Medicare process simple.”

UWM’s Financial Longevity Bundle provides financial advisory and retirement planning services that are uniquely broadened to reflect the increasing costs of healthcare/Medicare and lack of cost of living increases in Social Security. The increases in these costs have continued to create a financial burden on families and significantly affect retirement plans and retirement income streams.

“The cost of healthcare for our aging population is a major factor in determining whether you outlive your money,” said Emma. “Our primary objective is to help people manage all of the factors affecting their retirement income needs – their “cash flow” – to support increasing longevity in the 21st century and beyond.”

The upcoming open enrollment informational seminars are held in conjunction with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of RI, UnitedHealthcare and Aetna. The seminars will be held throughout Rhode Island, from Westerly to Woonsocket.

In addition, UWM is overseeing Medicare informational kiosks at selected Walmart and CVS stores throughout the state.

The hour-long seminars begin the first day of open enrollment, Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Universal

Wealth Management, 945 Reservoir Ave., Cranston.
