Free summer meals program for children starts July 3

Posted

Aramark, in partnership with Warwick Public Schools, will be providing free meals to children in the Warwick community this summer, beginning July 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the Department of Human Services Office at 195 Buttonwoods Ave.

This site will be open and serving free meals Monday through Friday during the summer months – from July 3 through August 25 – meals will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There are no income requirements or registration; any child under age 18 may come to eat. The site is open to the community at large and may only limit the site’s total enrollment for reasons of security, safety or control.

Lunches will be provided on a first come first served basis for the specified dates and timeframes. Please note that all meals must be consumed on site for food safety reasons.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Aramark-Warwick Public Schools to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. For more information about the national Summer Food Service Program, visit www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/summer.
