Gerald E. Walsh, 73, a resident of Easton for the past 40 years, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the former husband of Frances D. (Dawson) Walsh of Plymouth.

Born in Providence, RI., a son of the late Edward and Virginia (Wade) Walsh, he was raised in Warwick, RI., and was a graduate of Vocational Technical High School in Providence. Gerald was employed as an electronic engineer and worked for Teledyne. Later, he took a position as a biotechnician and was employed for Genzyme Biotechnology. He was enrolled as a student at the age of 60 at Bridgewater State University studying Biology. Gerald was an avid deep sea and freshwater fisherman.

In addition to his former wife he is survived by two children, Kelly Walsh of Boston and Gerald Walsh of Taunton; two sisters, Janet Kennedy of Warwick, RI., and Kathleen Chartier of Warwick, RI.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
