Heart Walk expected to draw 6,000 at June 2 event

The American Heart Association Southern New England Heart Walk will be held on Sunday, June 2 at Station Park, 100 Gaspee Street, in Providence. Registration and Pre-Walk Festivities begin at 7 a.m. The walk starts at 8:30 a.m.

There will also be a hundred-yard heel dash, free health screenings, entertainment, cardiovascular advice from experts, Kids’ zone, healthy snacks and giveaways. There will also be the Kids Heart Challenge, a half-mile obstacle course for kids ages 5-12, which will take place after the Heart Walk.

The Southern New England Heart Walk brings more than 6,000 walkers together for a two-mile and 3.5-mile walk that is fueled by the movement to be Healthy For Good. Healthy For Good is designed to rally millions of Americans to live healthier lives, inspire lasting change, and unify people around the simple idea that making a small change today can create a difference for generations to come.
