Hawks win at home

Bishop Hendricken hosted its yearly outdoor track and field invitational last weekend, and dedicated the event to longtime Athletic Director Paul Alianiello, who will be retiring at the conclusion of the school year.

Hendricken cruised to a first-place finish with 135 points, while second-place La Salle scored 67.

Seun Filaoye took first place for the Hawks in the 110-meter hurdles as well as first in the triple jump, while teammate Ahnyia Phrasathane-Estac finished sixth. Sean Fagan went on to win the 300 hurdles for Hendricken, followed by teammate Duwaun Edwards in second place.

Cameron Hughes won the discus for Hendricken, while teammate Dante Caouette took second and Pilgrim’s Kevin Navas third. Hendricken’s Max Paolino later took fifth in the shot put, followed by Pilgrim’s Owen O’Sullivan in seventh, and Hendricken’s Christopher Cox in 10th.

Russell White took home a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash for Hendricken, while Tom Comella finished third in the 200 dash. Dylan Murphy finished in 10th place for Hendricken. David DelBonis placed third in the 1,500 run, followed by teammate Jack McMahon in fifth, Evan Reynolds in seventh, Matt St. Jean in eighth, and Aidan Tierney in ninth.

The Hendricken relay team of Edwards, Nick Capalbo, Fagan and Michael Hanlon took first in the 1,600, while DelBonis, St. Jean, McMahon and Josiah Johnson won the 3,200. The Hendricken relay team of White, Tom Comella, Nic Comella and James Gobewole took second in the 400.

Toll Gate’s Justin Perreault finished second in the pole vault, while teammate Elijah Aguilar took fifth. Matt Froehlich took sixth, while teammate Thomas Wilkins took ninth and Will Tuttle 10th.

Hendricken’s Amuchin Timbo finished third in the triple jump, followed by Jordan Robbins in seventh.

Hendricken’s Capalbo took fourth in the 400 dash, while Justin Dorsey took 10th for Pilgrim. Hendricken’s Aidan Moreira went on to take sixth in the freshman 1,500 run, followed by teammates Matt Del Sesto and Wilson Jablonski in eighth and ninth, respectively.

Ryan Morel took fourth for Hendricken in the hammer throw, while teammate Jake Picard took eighth. Hendricken’s Nick Coffey finished fourth in the javelin, followed by St. Jean in eighth.

Ryan Dyer finished fourth in the sophomore 1,500 run for Hendricken. Hendricken’s Andrew Woodbine later took fourth in the 3,000 run, while teammate James Kiernan took ninth and Michael Feret 10th.

Teighan Jeremy finished fourth in the high jump for Hendricken, while teammate John Santos tied for seventh. Hendricken’s Richard Francazio took ninth in the shot put, while Hendricken’s Troy Moore took 10th in the long jump.
