Hendricken senior is 'bugged' by story
Big Blue Bug Cupcakes.
When I received word I would be working at the Warwick Beacon as part of my Senior Experience, an intern program for Bishop Hendricken seniors, I was thrilled. I knew it would provide some interesting and exciting experiences. Still, it was quite a shock to be told I would be eating bugs.
My apprehensions were quickly put down when it was revealed the bugs were made of icing. The Beacon received a box of blueberry cupcakes Monday. They had come from Wright’s Bakery in North Smithfield. With relief, I devoured the cupcakes and the intricately sculpted confectionary bugs.
Accompanying the cupcakes was a note: “Compliments of The Big Blue Bug. Today is a big day for me. Hope you notice my big blue change. Have a good day!”
Now this was a story I could really sink my teeth into. Upon investigation, I discovered the package was sent by Big Blue Bug Solutions [previously New England Pest Control] to spread the word of their name change.
So thanks Big Blue Bug, for the story and the snack.
