Providence College recently held its 31st annual computer programming contest. Bishop Hendricken High School students competed, and the team of four took home first place on the second day of the competition, surpassing 14 other schools.

The event is sponsored by the college’s student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. PC’s computer programming contest requires teams to work as one unit to complete a minimum of seven problems. The team solving the highest number of problems wins and in the case of a tie, the team taking the least accumulated time wins.

Bishop Hendricken High School’s winning team, coached by Mark DiPippo, included junior Yuanbo Jiang, senior Henry Pratt, sophomore Paarth Tandon, and senior Fred Choi.
