Ray Bradbury’s acclaimed book-burning novel, Fahrenheit 451, will be performed this weekend at Hendricken’s Harrop Theater.

There will be three showings of the play: Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 11 at 2 p.m. Tickets for the show are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors and can be purchased at the box office located outside the theatre prior to the show or online at hendricken.com/arts/boxoffice.

The production is being directed by Theatre Director Richard Sylvia, who is in his eighth year as Director of Arts at Hendricken. Kristen Coyne is the assistant director and Tim Mattias, a senior at Hendricken, is the stage manager for the production.

Senior Carlin Fournier plays the role of Montag, while Jack Ruscetta plays Black, Jacob Boblitt plays Holden, senior Brendan Lawrence plays Beatty, and Juliette Hoemle plays Clarisse.

The production incorporates technology, with large digital screens depicting burning fires in the background of the set.

The play tells the story of Ray Bradbury’s 1953 novel by the same name in which a future American society is presented where books are outlawed and “firemen” burn any books that are found at a temperature of 451 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fahrenhheit 451 is Hendricken’s second production of this school year.
