House Majority Leader K. Joseph Shekarchi is encouraging high school seniors to apply for the PrepareRI Internship program, a paid internship to provide valuable work preparation and skills.

The program, which is a partnership between the Governor’s Workforce Board, the Department of Education, and Skills for Rhode Island’s Future, will provide rising high school seniors with a paid six- to eight-week internship with one of 100 leading employers in the state. Skills for Rhode Island's Future will help select students and will match them with employers for the summer of 2018. Applications will be accepted online only.

Applications are now open and are available at www.prepare-ri.org/internships. The application deadline is April 15.

“I hope that students in my district will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to learn and gain valuable skills this summer that will help them prepare for the workplace in the future,” said Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick).
