Shannon Godbout, age 34, of Hope Valley has been charged with one count of 2nd Degree Robbery (Felony), one count of Driving Without Consent (Felony), one count of Felony Shoplifting, and one more count of Driving Without Consent (Felony) in regards to separate instances, one at the Sunoco Gas Station on Post Road on Mar. 18 and the other at the Mobil Gas Station on Jefferson Blvd. at Feb. 11.

In both crimes, Godbout was operating a stolen motor vehicle.

According to a Warwick Police releases at the Mobil Gas Station, she stole a carton of cigarettes and fled the scene in a stolen motor vehicle.  That vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in Cranston.

At the Sunoco station on Mar. 18, police say she insinuated to the store clerk that she had a weapon and demanded money.  She fled the store with $138 in a different stolen vehicle.

On Mar. 19, Godbout was stopped in that stolen vehicle in Providence and arrested on outstanding warrants from Warwick Police regarding the Mobil shoplifting.  She was turned over to Warwick Police and taken to the police station.

Four felony charges were brought against Godbout relating to the two investigations. She transported to Kent County courthouse on Mar. 20 to be arraigned.
