Hospital presents Lang awards to 2 outstanding employees
Kent Hospital has announced the recipients of this year’s employee service awards. The hospital honored employees for dedicated service and accomplishments<\f>May 16 at its Annual Employee Awards Banquet, held at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown. These 290 employees have given a remarkable 4,195 years of collective service to Kent Hospital.
Employees were recognized for their years of service ranging from five to 45 years. In addition, the William Lang Employee of the Year and Manager of the Year were also announced. Named after the late hospital administrator, William Lang, who served in that leadership role from 1960 to 1985, and was at Kent even longer, this award recognizes excellence, dedication and commitment to the hospital, patients and the Kent family. The Manager/Employee of the Year are both selected from a pool of past year Manager of the Quarter/Employee of the Month recipients.
The 2012 Lang Employee of the Year Award was presented to Rebecca Morin-Lukowicz of West Warwick. Rebecca has worked in the Public Relations and Marketing Department since October 1973.
The 2012 Lang Manager of the Year Award was presented to Eileen O’Donoghue, of Stoughton, Mass. Eileen was hired as the director of food and nutrition services in January 1999.
Kent’s 40-year employees were also recognized for their years of service. They include Elizabeth Duliban, Intensive Care Unit, West Warwick; Donald Lemois, Engineering West Warwick; Sandra Montecalvo, Laboratory, Warwick; and Giovanna Petrangelo, Food Services, West Warwick.
There was also one 45-year recipient. This award was presented to Dorothy Murray, RN, nursing administration, West Warwick. Murray was hired in September 1966 as an LPN on 4 West. In June 1971, she became a graduate nurse and in August 1971, a registered nurse. Dorothy became a nursing supervisor in May 1979.
In addition, 88 employees were recognized for five years of service; 66 employees for 10 years of service; 39 employees for 15 years of service; 30 employees for 20 years of service; 39 employees for 25 years of service; 15 employees for 30 years of service; and eight employees for 35 years of service.
