Hulk's incredible journey to RI

After traveling over 5,600 miles on a 12-hour flight, Hulk safely made it to Rhode Island, and this is where his journey begins to find a family of his very own.

You see, Hulk was found on the side of the road fighting for his life after being hit by a car in Jordan. Luckily for Hulk, a good Samaritan named Ahmad Baraiseh decided to help him and nurse him back to health, but did not realize the extent of his injuries. Once it was determined that Hulk's injuries would not permit him to use his back legs, they decided to take to social media to see if they could find someone who would be willing to help Hulk.

"Hulk is a wonderful dog, a special one," Baraiseh said. "He was with me for one year. He is a perfect dog; loves family and company. He suffered a lot when he was left in the street, then I got him and [am] trying my best to do for him. I love Hulk. He is my son, my best rescue. If I want to talk about Hulk I need a lot of days to talk about him. I love him, [I will] never forget him and hope the best for him. As I said he is my son, my heart, my soul."

Hulk's post became a viral sensation, eventually reaching the Tiger's Den Rescue in Cranston, and Leelee Davis. Davis's heart sank upon reading Hulk's plight but thought to herself, "how can I help?"

"Something about his eyes just spoke to me," Davis said.

So she reached out via social media and began the lengthy process of getting Hulk to America. Hulk's savior from Jordan, Ahmad, informed Davis that Hulk's flight would be fully sponsored through donations. With the great news of the expense of the flight being covered, Davis was now most nervous for Hulk to travel in the cargo portion of the airplane. She knew this was just one more hurdle for Hulk to overcome in order to get here to begin his new life. So after all of the plans were made, Hulk was on his way with dreams of a family of his own.

Upon meeting Hulk for the very first time, Davis said, "No words are beautiful enough to describe this baby." Hulk is a three-year-old mixed breed with a beautiful golden coat, dark chocolate brown eyes accented by his furrowed brow, which adds to his expressive face. He loves everyone he meets, especially children.

Hulk is a medium sized dog who has adapted very quickly to his new wheels, but he also can "scoot" himself around on the floor in his foster home. He is also exceptionally smart. Many dogs with Hulk's disposition make wonderful therapy dogs themselves. Many folks have donated here in Rhode Island towards Hulk's medical expenses and he has been receiving the best of care. Colleen Brophy of Top Paw-Formance Canine Academy has offered her training services for free to whoever adopts Hulk.

Hulk is now ready to complete his journey and find his loving forever home. He is hoping to spread joy wherever his wheels take him. We as humans can learn so much from Hulk's story, compassion, understanding, hope, trust and love, but most of all he spreads the message to never to give up. When you meet Hulk you can actually feel his passion for life and his smile is contagious.
