In lieu of gun control...

To the Editor:

June 14, 2017 witnessed two massacres here in America. In Virginia, a maniac opened fire on congressional individuals in Virginia, his reason having been silenced along with his persona, while a disgruntled maniac killed four of his co-workers at a UPS installation, his reason being he was being forced to work long hours.

Now, the congressional caucus feels they need more protection. These are the same individuals who probably berated the law enforcement agencies in our nation under the reign of King Obama. But now, when it comes home to them they suddenly feel the need to be protected. These are the same individuals who have passed laws that deprive most of us of any protection here in the good old USA. They are the same hand wringers who cry for the rights of the disenfranchised while the rest of us are on our own.

What would the outcome have been if someone had shot up a group of civilians on a playground? Would those people have been afforded protection for the rest of their time here on Earth. It seems only a chosen few in this country are worthy of being made safe while the rest of us are on our own. And lastly our illustrious governor weighed in on the situation with her strong feeling about gun control. I am not a gun enthusiast in any sense of the term but I do know that a person needs to pull the trigger in order for a gun to work. Perhaps in lieu of gun control we should have a new philosophy in trying to deal with the madness overtaking our nation, perhaps we could call it homicidal maniac control.
