It's time for the grandkids
The Pilgrim High School library was a happening place Wednesday as both current and retired teachers and administrators turned out to wish Bill McDevitt well on his retirement after serving Warwick schools for 33 years. McDevitt started at Wyman School in 1979 and moved on to Pilgrim in 1983. He served as the department’s director of special education for two years before asking to return to the classroom and the kids. Bill’s father, William McDevitt, who worked in Warwick schools for 30 years and was the assistant principal at Pilgrim when it opened in 1963, was among the well wishers. Here, the two McDevitts are joined by Jeanne Constantine, who is also retiring. Constantine has worked in a clerical position at Pilgrim for 18 years. Both McDevitt and Constantine say they are looking forward to spending time with their grandchildren.
