Jean (Austin) Haley, 88, of Warwick passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 11, 2018. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Haley. They were married for 65 years.
Jean Haley was born in Warwick, the daughter of the late Henry Austin and the late Dorothy (Ross) Austin. Jean was a graduate of Gorton High School in Warwick. She spent her years raising her family, and her happiest times were shared with them as her family grew over the years.
She is survived by her children: Robert A. Haley and his wife Linda, of Warwick, Stephen E. Haley (deceased) and his wife Nancy, of Richmond, Linda J. Hoopis and her husband Chris, of Warwick, David M. Haley, and his wife Diane, of Richmond, and Matthew J. Haley and his wife Francie, of Coventry. She also leaves ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and was a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Shirley DeSanto, of Warwick, and the late Donald Austin, Ada Austin and Dorothy Emerson. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 16, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 9:00 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
