John L. McCabe, 83, of Cranston died Sunday at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Eugene M. and Eva C. (Gillis) McCabe, he had lived in Cranston for most of his life. Mr. McCabe worked for the Diocese of Providence for many years before his retirement.
He leaves three sisters, Esther M. Nardoza of Riverside; Arlene P. Cinq-Mars of Waterville, ME and Mary R. McCabe of Warwick; his dear friend Anna, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the brother of the late Edward F. McCabe, William J. McCabe and Elaine M. McCormick.
His funeral was Thursday, March 1st from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Timothy Church, Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to Scandinavian Nursing Home Activities Fund will be appreciated. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. www.trainorfh.com
