John P. Ormond Jr., age 86, formerly of Post Road and South Atlantic Avenue, Warwick, died on Friday, July 20, 2018, at West Shore Health Center in Warwick. He was the husband of the late Sarah A. (Lillibridge) Ormond.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John P. and Helen (Walsh) Ormond, he lived in Warwick for most of his life. He attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Ormond was employed at the former Narragansett Electric Co. in Providence for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Pawtuxet Athletic Club in Cranston.
He is survived by two sons, John P. Ormond, III and Michael D. Ormond, both of Warwick, a daughter, Donna H. Anderson of West Warwick; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was the brother of the late William Ormond, Michael Ormond, Kathleen Hamilton, and Marie Ormond.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 24, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick.
