John S. Coppolino, 87, a Warwick resident since 1977, died Thursday May 24, 2018 at R.I. Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sandra A. (Young) Coppolino and the late Anna P. (Pompeii) Coppolino.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Dominic and Carmella (Constantino) Coppolino.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. An Electronics Technician, he was employed by Digital Equipment Corporation, before retiring in 1992. A family man, he enjoyed spending many hours with them, playing his accordion. He was a talented musician who also was an accomplished cook and was in the process of writing a Cook Book and Meal Plan for transplant patients being a transplant survivor himself. John was a Ham Radio Operator for many years and a devoted member of St. Rose and Clement Parish.

Besides his wife John is survived by his devoted family, his son, Fire Lt. Christopher J. Coppolino (WWFD) and his wife Gina, his stepchildren: Keith A Colwell and his wife Lisa and Karen A. Greaves.

He was the cherished grandfather “Nonno” of Cameron R. and Ryan Coppolino, Nicholas H. and Daniel G. Greaves.

He was a brother of Frank Coppolino, Mary Gardner, Constance Andrews, Amelia LaChance and the late Dominic Coppolino and a loving uncle of his many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 4:00- 7:00 p.m.
