Joseph Dunphy of Warwick, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Joseph was the beloved husband of Lori (Stepenski) Dunphy.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Mary E. (Buote) Dunphy. Joseph was a graduate of the last all male class of LaSalle Academy in 1984. He was very involved with his children's sports teams, coaching both in the Warwick PAL League and the Boys and Girls Clubs. Joseph was an outstanding athlete, a star of baseball and football. He was an all-state third baseman in 1983 and 1984 and a member of the undefeated state championship team.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his three adoring children: Sean, Erin and Meagan. Joseph was the dear brother of Steven Dunphy of East Providence, Mark Dunphy and his wife, Kathleen of Cranston, Jeanne Petit and her husband, Christopher of Warwick, Carol Botelho and her husband, Ernest of Warwick, and John Dunphy and his wife, Deborah of Cranston. Joseph also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine’s Church, 3252 Post Road in Warwick at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours: Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
