The Rhode Island Hospice Veterans Partnership will host its 1st Annual Music Fest fundraiser to support New Englanders Helping Our Veterans (NEHOV). NEHOV assists Veterans throughout New England who are in need by providing monetary and non-monetary assistance. Some examples include helping with temporary housing costs, paying bills, donating furniture, car repairs, etc. Their largest project to date is “IRONCLAD,” which was formed to help rebuild an uninhabitable Korean War veteran’s home in Burrillville.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 27 beginning at 4 p.m. at 97 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. It will also serve to commemorate our Korean War Veterans on the 66th Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice. There will be food from local restaurants, live music, cash bar, complimentary cocktails by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, 50/50 raffle, vendors and more. Featured artists are the Reggie Centracchio Quintet and Solo/Acoustic Artist Justin Bryan. Ticket price is $25 at the door, which includes food and two tickets for beer/wine. Korean War Veterans are free. Veterans or active duty military pay half price with valid military ID.
Christine Lachapelle-Miller, president of the Rhode Island Hospice Veteran Partnership said, “it is an honor and a duty to give even a little back to those who sacrificed so much so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. This event is a great opportunity for the residents of Rhode Island to come together to support our local veterans in need and commemorate them for their selfless service to this great country.”
