June I. Harris


June I. Harris, 86, passed away on June 13, 2012 at Cedar Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre. She was the beloved wife of the late James T. Harris and the late Victor K. Webb.

Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Eleanor (Tupper) Cunningham. After graduating from Arlington High School, she assisted her father in his dental practice in Boston and upon his death she then worked in a flower shop, managed a paint store and later a fabric store. She was an expert seamstress and excellent cook. June enjoyed all sports. An avid Red Sox fan she attended many games at Fenway Park always keeping a score card on the game. June loved to travel. Upon marrying her first husband, Victor, she moved to Rhode Island and they traveled often on his yacht making many trips down the Atlantic inland waterway to Florida and back. June and Jim traveled extensively to England and around the country visiting with relatives and seeing National Parks. June was a member and deacon of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church where she was on the membership committee and a member of the Hope Circle.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Bette Cunningham of Concord, Massachusetts; two nieces: Cheryl A. Daigle and her husband, Kerry of Acton, Mass. and Dr. Melody J. Cunningham and her husband, Dr. Michael J. Rohrer of Memphis, Tennessee; and five step-children: Ruth Webb Thayer of Warwick, RI and Robert Webb of East Greenwich, RI, Edward M. Harris of Pompton, New Jersey, Thomas L. Harris of Jamestown, RI and Roger A. Harris of Montreal, Canada. She was the sister of the late Ray Cunningham and the step-mother of the late Victor K. Webb, Jr. and Arline Webb Goes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m. in Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, 565 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Burial in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence will be private.
