Historian and musician Lloyd Kaplan will offer a three-part series on Duke Ellington: 50 Years of Extraordinary Jazz at Warwick Public Library on Tuesdays, June 11, 18 and 25 at 7 p.m.

A popular and essential jazz musician, Duke Ellington changed what jazz was and could be through his collaborations with top musicians and composers. Explore his 50-year career as a writer, pianist and leader of the Duke Ellington Orchestra, from his start at Harlem's celebrated Cotton Club to worldwide fame.

Discover the greatest composer and bandleader of his time and the eminent jazz musicians who worked with him to make magnificent music.
